On November 16 in 2023, Professor Mark Clarence Walker, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa, Head of Global Health and International Communication, and Ms. Zaina-Sophie Salibi, Development Specialist of Global Health and International Communication, visited our hospital. Kun Sun, President of our hospital, Libin Zhao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhongmin Zheng, Deputy President of the Party Committee, Weiping Xu and other relevant clinical departments attended the cooperation and exchange forum.

At the meeting, Dr. Kun Sun welcomed the arrival of Prof. Mark Clarence Walker and Ms. Zaina-Sophie Salibi, and appreciated the friendship between the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa and Xinhua Hospital that has lasted for eight years. He hoped that through this exchange, we could further deepen our understanding and promote the resumption of mutual visits, training and scientific research cooperation that have been suspended due to the global pandemic. Subsequently, Professor Xin Sun, Director of the Center for Clinical Research and Innovation Unit, reported the progress and results of the clinical research projects cooperated with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa in recent years. Sun Chen, Fei Li, Jun Zhang, Jun Wang, Lei Wang and other clinical department directors and experts exchanged in-depth views with the guests of Ottawa Medical School on cooperation issues such as clinical diagnosis and treatment, scientific research innovation and training exchanges. We hope to take this visit as an opportunity to continue to develop more extensive and in-depth cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ottawa.

After the meeting, Professor Mark Clarence Walker gave a special lecture entitled "Predictive Modelling and Artificial Intelligence". Nearly 100 students and medical staff listened to the lecture and had a lively academic discussion with the foreign guests.
